Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Travel) in Rochester, New York. This travel assignment begins 08/10/2026 for a several-week duration in a hospital setting. Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care across a range of surgical specialties (general, ortho total joint/trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, thoracic) and robotic cases
- Support preoperative preparation, intraoperative care, and postoperative recovery within standard OR protocols
- Maintain sterile technique, correct sponging and instrument handling, and assist with positioning, draping, and patient safety
- Monitor patient status, respond to intraoperative changes, administer medications as prescribed, and coordinate with anesthesia and the broader surgical team
- Utilize Da Vinci Xi robotic systems when indicated; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, RT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, Interpretation services, Unit Secretary, Transport)
- Ensure accurate documentation in EPIC; manage specimens and labeling per protocol; uphold universal protocol and infection control standards
- Participate in call coverage, unit float activities as needed, and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand to submit
- BLS required; CNOR is preferred
- OR/surgical experience required; 3 years of RN experience in a surgical/OR setting (note: postings vary; primary posting indicates 3 years)
- Travel RN experience required; must not be within 75 miles of site
- EPIC charting experience required
- Ability to work in a hospital OR environment, including 1:1 patient care and call responsibilities
- Competence in phlebotomy and IV placement; familiarity with universal protocol/time-out and specimen handling
- COVID-19 vaccine not required as per posting
