Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/27/2026 Duration: 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Location Olathe, KS Class/Area RN / PCU Scheduled Details 12-hour Night Shifts Schedule: 1900-0730, three shifts per week Experience Requirements Minimum of 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience Strong critical thinking skills Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs Ability to operate independently without a vascular access team Experience calling on own consults and conducting own codes Open-heart experience (Day 2 or Day 3) with pacer wires Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1 at maximum License and Certification Requirements Current Kansas RN License or Compact RN License BLS and ACLS certification NIHSS certification Floating Requirements Must be willing to float to ICU and all inpatient units, including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED with prior experience. Weekend Requirements Every other weekend required. Holiday Requirement Travelers must work one holiday from each group: Thanksgiving Eve or Day, Christmas Eve or Day, or New Year’s Eve or Day, based on unit needs. Orientation Requirements Attend the first two days of orientation at the main campus Day 3: Attend unit-specific orientation Day 4: Participate in Director of Nursing training Day 5: Complete virtual Epic training Additional Notes This is a nicotine-free facility. Orientation includes 8 hours of non-billable time. The current electronic medical record system is EPIC. Bi-weekly pay periods with specific shift cancellation policies.
