About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Engineering Officer to lead its Engineering Department with a primary focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and the maintenance and repair of infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of track, structures, line, and signal, ensuring the reliability and state of good repair of all engineering assets. This senior leadership role demands a visible, hands-on approach, with the expectation that the Chief Engineering Officer will be a proactive field leader, establishing and enforcing clear safety and operating standards. The role also involves direct supervision of engineering department employees, including the development of supervisors and a commitment to a culture where safety and regulatory compliance take precedence over all other considerations. Applicants for the Chief Engineering Officer position at the company should have a significant background in railroad engineering or closely related infrastructure work, with a strong preference for those with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in safety management, maintenance programs, and a thorough understanding of federal regulations, particularly those related to maintenance-of-way activities.
