Effector Power Lead Engineering Support Technician

Date Posted: 2026-03-25 Location: Tucson, AZ (1151 E Hermans Rd, BLDG M02) Job Overview The Effector Analog & Power (EAP) Department at Raytheon is looking for a Lead Engineering Support Technician to build, install, troubleshoot, repair and inspect Engineering circuit card assemblies, cable, and harness systems. Responsibilities Modify, rework, and populate Engineering CCA's, assemblies, and subassemblies to ensure proper operation per established criteria. Perform required repairs to returned and damaged units to an operational state, including micro‑soldering under a microscope. Build cables and harnesses from schematics; conduct quality verification and inspection under a microscope. Identify, repair, and replace wire harnesses and cable assemblies; isolate failures and recommend corrective action. Keep management informed of potential problems or risks that may negatively affect program schedule or quality. Provide on‑the‑job recommendations to mid and upper‑level Engineering and Leadership for hardware integration issues. Comply with the company’s FOD program, tool control program and all safety regulations. May perform duties at various company locations. Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent 2‑year post‑high‑school training. Minimum 8 years relevant experience. Experience with soldering, mechanical, quality standards, processes, and documentation. Verification and inspection experience with associated standards. Experience with cable and harness assembly, fabrication, and/or rework. Existing Secret security clearance. IPC J‑STD‑001 solder certification (preferred). IPC 610 and IPC 620 acceptability certification and inspection experience (preferred). Knowledge of reflow oven, mini‑wave, pre‑heater, hot air pencil and desolder tools. Experience with fabrication processes such as bonding, cleaning, coating, and mechanical fasteners. Strong ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics, and electronic blueprints. Motivated self‑starter capable of working independently or collaboratively in a fast‑paced technical support environment. Benefits Work schedule: 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).
