Our NIO Fresh Tissue Imager is used in clinical settings in the United States and Europe and has been used in more than 10,000 procedures across various cancer surgeries. Invenio combines advanced imaging, laser-based instrumentation, and artificial intelligence to support faster tissue assessment. The company’s NIO Lung Cancer Reveal image analysis module has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, highlighting the potential of the platform to expand access to rapid tissue evaluation. We are a small, hands‑on medical device company looking for team members who are comfortable working across manufacturing, engineering, quality, and service. Role Description We are seeking a hands‑on Manufacturing Technician to support the manufacturing, assembly, testing, verification, and troubleshooting of the NIO Laser Imaging System. This role is focused on building and testing complex electro‑mechanical, optical, laser, imaging, and motion‑control systems at our San Jose facility. The ideal candidate has strong experience in medical device manufacturing, laser/optical systems, imaging systems, or similarly complex equipment, and is comfortable working within an ISO 13485‑compliant quality system. Key Responsibilities Assemble NIO Fresh Tissue Imager and related subassemblies according to controlled work instructions and specifications. Perform electro‑mechanical assembly, including in‑line testing and final verification. Accurately complete device history records, test records, and manufacturing documentation. Follow ISO 13485‑compliant quality procedures and controlled work instructions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing workspace. Work with engineering, quality, and service teams to resolve build and test issues. Support manufacturing process improvements as needed. Qualifications 5+ years of hands‑on experience in medical device manufacturing, imaging systems, or similarly complex electro‑optical equipment. Experience working within an ISO 13485‑compliant quality management system, including controlled work instructions, device history records, nonconformances, and manufacturing documentation. Strong hands‑on skills with electro‑optical assembly, electrical testing, and system‑level troubleshooting. Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, and test procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy. Comfortable working in a small‑company environment where priorities can shift and team members work across functions. Technical degree, certification, or equivalent hands‑on experience in electronics, mechanical assembly, biomedical engineering technology, optics, or a related field. Ability to work onsite in San Jose, CA. Preferred Experience with laser/optical engineering, optical systems, microscopy, imaging systems, or optical alignment.
