Provides an engineering resource to support data communications and related applications requirements. Provides administrative support of installed systems/networks. Responsible for planning and implementing the necessary hardware, software and telecommunications equipment to maintain and/or enhance the organization's networks. Evaluates vendor products and recommends purchases. Recommends and implements network policies and procedures and ensures adherence to security procedures.Responsibilities:Assist in installations, configurations, upgrades, and maintenance of network equipment (switches, firewalls, and load balancers)Monitor network performance and troubleshootingDocument network configurations and diagramsProvide technical support to system operatorsAssist in implementing STIG complianceDesired Knowledge and Skills:TCP/IP ModelRoutingSwitchingMulti-chassis groups - Multi-Link Aggregation Domain or Switch Aggregation GroupsLink Aggregation Control Protocol 802.3adVLANs and VLAN Trunking, (802.1q & 802.3ac)Network Time ProtocolTroubleshootingAccess Control ListsFirewallsSecurity ZoneSecurity PoliciesNetwork Address TranslationLoad BalancingVirtual ServersServer PoolHealth ChecksEducation and Experience:Bachelor's in computer science or information technology, 10+ years of experienceMaster's in computer science or information technology, 5+ years of experienceMust currently possess a TS/SCI w/CI polygraph.The anticipated salary range for this position is $180,000 to $225,000.
