To learn more, visit Role Description The Information Technology Specialist is a full-time, on‑site role located in the Greater Minneapolis–St. Paul Area, serving the technology needs of the University of Minnesota Crookston community. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring campus network and systems, performing software and hardware installations, and ensuring reliable access to technology resources for students, faculty, and staff. The specialist will respond to technical support requests, diagnose and resolve issues, and elevate complex problems when necessary. This role also assists with network security measures, user account management, and documentation of IT procedures and configurations. Collaboration with campus departments to support instructional technology and continuous improvement of IT services is expected. Qualifications Strong foundation in Information Technology, including familiarity with common operating systems, hardware, and software used in academic environments. Demonstrated skills in Network Administration and Network Security to support and protect campus infrastructure. Proven Troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently. Customer Service skills to provide clear, respectful, and patient support to a diverse user base. Relevant associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with help desk or technical support in a campus or enterprise setting is beneficial. Ability to prioritize tasks, work both independently and in a team, and manage multiple requests in a fast‑paced environment.
