Sterile Processing Tech II - Sterile ProcessingMaintain a safe environment for patient, co-workers, and selfAssumes responsibility for instrument room activities, assuring proper processing of tray as related to all types of surgery to include age related cases and trays (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric)Completes all additional responsibilities to include clinical ladder criteriaKnowledge of location, care, and operation of all emergency equipmentAlways follows proper policies and procedures for Infection ControlConsistently inspects instrumentation and equipment for proper functioning and performanceChoose the proper decontamination method for all equipmentAlways assembles trays according to pick list, utilizes the correct method of wrap, and appropriate sterilizationMonitors sterilization process ensuring all parameters of sterilization are met prior to storageAll sterilized equipment in its proper locationMonitors the integrity of wrapped instrumentation while in storage areaMeets and maintains all requirementsResponsible for two in-services or two articles related to sterile processing of instrumentation per quarterParticipates in learning programs offered by the department and departmental QI activitiesCompletes all assigned duties within appropriate time frame and is willing to assist othersFosters good relationships between departments by communicating in a professional mannerExperience/Qualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredExperience in sterile processing preferredKnowledge of instrumentation and its usageMust be knowledgeable of decontamination, processing, and sterilizationKnowledgeable of different types of sterilization methods and being able to run proper testing and documentationPerks/Benefits:(for eligible employees):Have optimal opportunity for career growth within our growing organizationMedical / DentalRetirement PlanPTO and paid life insuranceWhat Sets Us ApartArchbold Medical Center is a four-hospital, four-nursing-home health system with 540 patient beds.
