Description & Requirements The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial reports, general ledger records, and supporting account research and analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities Include Assist in preparing consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments. Ability to analyze information and summarize findings for management presentation. Maintain and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances. Prepare and post journal entries to appropriately adjust P&L and balance sheet accounts. Develop and implement accounting procedures focused on process improvement and accounting transformation by evaluating current workflows and recommending enhancements. Analyze financial statements to identify and recommend appropriate accruals and adjustments. Respond to accounting and financial inquiries by researching, interpreting, and clearly communicating data. Perform bank and cash reconciliations, including cash accounts, credit cards, and loan balances. Provide data, documentation, and support to external auditors during audits and reviews. Review and analyze inventory transactions, communicating insights and variances to senior management. Support additional duties and special projects as assigned. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting is required. 3-5 years of experience in finance or related field Knowledge of accounting principles and practices Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and can establish priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner and exercise discretion. Strong communication skills ,both verbal and written, required. Proficient with Microsoft office suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.) as well as accounting software Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of the organization. Ability to physically sit at a desk for long periods, operate a computer, and listen/speak clearly on the phone and in-person.
