English Class Assistant

GoTEN Part-time Class Leaders manage classes as refugees learn. No experience required. Classes are offered in the evenings and work 2-6 hours per week. This job is ideal for college students desiring to grow in ministry experience. We are in need of individuals that have a passion for teaching and who want to engage refugee students and volunteers. Our English classes for refugees in Phoenix, AZ, create a connection point for GoTEN's ministry staff, trainees, and volunteers to begin building friendships with refugee individuals and families with the goal of sharing the hope of Jesus with them. Experience teaching ESL is not required, as we use a computer-based learning approach with a minimized curriculum. However, experience in teaching/teaching ESL would be very beneficial to the classroom. Part-time English Class Leaders need to have an interest in teaching weekly classes, working with students from a variety of countries, and making sure that the plan and structure of the classroom are followed consistently. This position is part-time and paid by the hour. Part-time class leaders work in evening classes and generally work 2-8 hours per week.
