Job Summary

Disney Entertainment Television is seeking a Publicity Coordinator to support publicity campaigns and day-to-day communications activities across its portfolio of television programming and content. Working closely with publicists, executives, and cross-functional partners, the Coordinator will provide administrative, project-management, and campaign support for series, specials, documentaries, movies, and other programming.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and energized by a fast-paced, creative environment. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and an interest in developing a career in entertainment publicity. The Coordinator will contribute to the planning and execution of publicity campaigns, events, talent activities, press outreach, and departmental operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, track, and compile press coverage, social media activity, industry news, and publicity results for internal and external reporting.
• Create and maintain press lists, media contacts, show contact sheets, campaign calendars, status reports, and other departmental resources.
• Research media outlets, journalists, industry trends, pop-culture developments, and potential publicity opportunities.
• Draft, edit, and distribute publicity materials, which may include press releases, announcements, pitches, biographies, fact sheets, loglines, press blasts, confirmation memos, and social media copy.
• Gather, organize, and distribute publicity assets, including images, clips, screeners, press materials, mailers, and promotional items.
• Support the planning and execution of publicity campaigns, launches, initiatives, and events.
• Assist with events such as press junkets, screenings, panels, premieres, press tours, award shows, and other industry or company events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Coordinate talent-related logistics, including travel, schedules, itineraries, interviews, event participation, and other publicity needs.
• Provide administrative support to publicity executives and the broader department, including calendar management, meeting coordination, conference calls, note-taking, expense reports, and general scheduling.
• Maintain publicity-related materials and information across internal systems, media sites, presentations, and shared departmental resources.
• Assist with purchase orders, invoices, contracts, expenses, budgets, vendor onboarding, and other campaign or departmental processes as needed.
• Participate in campaign brainstorms and contribute ideas for press angles, pitches, events, and promotional opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal partners across marketing, creative, media, social, production, and other business areas.
• Communicate professionally with external partners, including talent, talent representatives, production teams, public relations agencies, vendors, and members of the media.
• Provide additional project, campaign, and administrative support as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of related experience in publicity, communications, marketing, entertainment, or a comparable professional environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate, current information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding, and collaborative environment.
• Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach to work.
• Ability to take direction, exercise sound judgment, and adapt as priorities evolve.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Workspace, or comparable productivity and presentation tools.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms and current entertainment and pop-culture trends.
• Ability to provide on-site support at publicity events, including occasional evening and weekend work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years previous publicity or marketing experience at a television network, streaming platform, studio, production company, agency, or related entertainment organization.
• Familiarity with media-monitoring, press-database, or communications platforms such as Muck Rack, TVEyes, or similar tools.
• Experience supporting publicity campaigns, entertainment events, talent logistics, or media relations.
• Demonstrated interest in television, streaming, entertainment, and the evolving media landscape.
• Desire and ability to take on increasing levels of responsibility.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $54,000 to $72,300 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
