Transform Lives Through Communication in the Vibrant City of Nashville, Tennessee – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where every conversation you facilitate represents a lifeline for someone in need. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the lively and culturally rich city of Nashville, your role transcends the realms of communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you will play a pivotal role in unlocking the potential of your clients, enhancing their confidence, and nurturing essential human connections — from toddlers speaking their first words to older adults reclaiming their voices.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse demographic in a setting that beautifully merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in helping young children develop their language skills, assisting adults with neurogenic communication challenges, or guiding seniors in cognitive rehabilitation, you will discover tremendous satisfaction and versatility in this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups employing standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives of each patient.
- Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy targeting various aspects of communication, including language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing difficulties.
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families, empowering them to support progress outside the clinical environment.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure uninterrupted care throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in ongoing education and collaboration with peers to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
Required Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
Essential Skills
- Strong command of evidence-based treatment modalities for all age groups, alongside a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster connections with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care providers.
- Ability to modify therapy approaches to cater to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Proficient clinical judgment combined with problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with electronic medical records and familiarity with documentation protocols.
Benefits Offered
- Competitive salary that reflects your experience.
- Flexible schedules to promote work-life balance and accommodate diverse caseloads.
- Chances to specialize in areas like pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday compensation.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
- Support for continuing education and professional growth opportunities.
- A collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere aimed at providing high-quality care and fostering lifelong learning.
A Career Journey Worth Taking
In this role, your contributions won't merely consist of delivering speech therapy — you will immerse yourself in a community-focused mission dedicated to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and weaving joy through the fundamental human connections brought to life by understanding.
Joining our team means partnering with practitioners who support one another like family, in a workplace that champions collaboration over competition. Each patient's journey is unique, and we trust you to help sculpt their narrative.
