Senior Analyst, Compensation & People OperationsLocation: New York City, NY (4 days per week in office)Experience: 3+ YearsEmployment Type: Full-TimeClient: Financial ServicesAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Analyst, Compensation & People Operations to join our People team in New York City. This role will serve as a key contributor across compensation, benefits, payroll, people analytics, and broader human capital management initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong quantitative skills with a passion for employee experience, operational excellence, and leveraging technology-including AI-to improve People processes and decision-making.This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Human Resources, Finance, and business leaders to support a data-driven, high-performing workforce.Key ResponsibilitiesCompensationSupport the design, administration, and analysis of compensation programs, including base salary, bonus, and incentive plans.Conduct market benchmarking and compensation analysis to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.Assist with annual compensation planning, salary reviews, promotions, and job evaluations.Prepare compensation models, reporting, and recommendations for leadership.People Operations & Human Capital ManagementMaintain and optimize core HR processes, policies, and employee lifecycle activities.Support organizational planning, workforce management, and employee data governance.Partner with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and employee experience.Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations.Benefits & PayrollServe as a key partner in benefits administration, employee enrollments, and vendor management.Support payroll processing, audits, reconciliations, and reporting activities.Assist with compliance requirements related to payroll, benefits, and employee records.Respond to employee inquiries regarding compensation, payroll, and benefits programs.People AnalyticsDevelop and maintain dashboards, reports, and metrics related to workforce trends, compensation, retention, recruiting, and organizational effectiveness.Analyze employee data to identify insights and support business decision-making.Partner with HR and business leaders to deliver meaningful workforce reporting and recommendations.Ensure data accuracy and integrity across HR systems.AI & Process InnovationSupport the implementation and adoption of AI-enabled tools and technologies across People Operations.Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve reporting capabilities.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to evaluate and deploy innovative solutions that enhance productivity and employee experience.Assist in developing best practices for responsible AI usage within Human Resources.QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.3+ years of experience in Compensation, People Operations, Human Resources, Human Capital Management, HR Analytics, or a related function.Strong analytical and quantitative skills with advanced Excel proficiency.Experience working with HRIS, payroll, and/or workforce management systems.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.PreferredExperience with compensation benchmarking and salary survey analysis.Familiarity with people analytics, workforce planning, and HR reporting tools.Experience supporting payroll and benefits administration.Exposure to AI tools, automation technologies, or HR technology implementations.Knowledge of HR compliance and employment regulations.What We’re Looking ForA data-driven problem solver who enjoys turning workforce data into actionable insights.Strong organizational skills with a process-improvement mindset.Curiosity about emerging technologies, particularly AI and automation.Ability to operate with discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic and evolving environment.Expected Work Arrangement: New York City-based role with four days per week in-office and one day remote.The SR Group (US), Inc. is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.Please note that your personal information will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
