Line Cook

Role Description

A cook who has a willingness to learn and eagerness to be a part of a tight team. This candidate will be able to work well under pressure, execute a range of daily tasks; ensure the kitchen produces exemplary food while simultaneously fostering a healthy, happy work environment. Tight, focused, ingredient-drive menu pairing with an extensive natural wine list in a small but busy corner location in the West Village. 

Schedule Requirement: 

Full time, 4 days per week
Part time, determined post trail

Key Responsibilities 

• Working collaboratively with the Sous Chef
• Produce consistent, quality dishes in a fast-paced environment
• Provide a positive influence to the team and coverage or assistance to all stations as needed
• Work well under pressure while also creating a welcoming work environment that increases staff morale
• Ability to multitask, watch wastage, cooking temps and quality to reduce additional costs
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary standards throughout the facility in compliance with DOH standards.
• Maintain a safe environment for all Team Members.

Desired Experience

• Passionate, positive person excited to continue growth of an aspirational food program with a tight-knit, fun team. Interest in natural wines a plus.
• 2+ years of culinary experience in a full-service kitchen
• Excellent knife skills, plating techniques, and attention to aesthetics and detail
• New York City Food Handler Certificate or willingness to obtain

Compensation

• Starting $18-$23/hr based on experience with room for growth
