Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students’ growth during ESY (Extended School Year) services this summer! We’re seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers passionate about individualized education and making a difference for learners at both the high school and elementary levels. This contract position provides the chance to engage students in a positive, structured setting while collaborating with a committed team.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid Missouri Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience in special education, ideally with ESY or similar settings
- Enthusiasm for working in a GOALS classroom at the high school level and/or with students who have essential skills needs at the elementary level
- Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and delivering tailored lessons that address individualized education plan (IEP) goals
- Collaborating with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to maximize student success
- Utilizing evidence-based instructional strategies to meet a range of learning needs
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and timely documentation
- Creating an inclusive, respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and growth
This contract runs from June 1 through June 25 with a Monday through Thursday schedule, totaling 25 hours each week—so you can enjoy flexibility and maintain a healthy work/life balance this summer. You’ll have support through a prescreen process and interview with the district prior to placement.
