State and Local Tax Manager

Our Mission: We will use our expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to:Nurture future leaders through a supportive, challenging, and enjoyable work environmentProvide the highest quality professional services to our clientsUtilize our outstanding team and maximize their effectiveness by promoting a healthy balance between work and daily lifeWork with clients and team members to accomplish their desired resultsResponsibilitiesPrepare and review state and local tax returns, including income tax, sales and use tax, property tax, and franchise tax returnsEnsure timely and accurate filing of all required tax returnsStay up-to-date on changes in state and local tax laws and regulationsAdvise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilitiesConduct research and analysis to identify tax opportunities and risksDevelop and implement tax strategies to optimize client tax positionsRepresent clients in state and local tax audits and appealsPrepare and file tax protests and appealsNegotiate settlements with tax authoritiesMentor and develop team membersAssign and review work to ensure quality and efficiencyCollaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive client serviceWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's/Master's degree in accounting/TaxCPA certification requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience in state and local tax4-10 years experience in public accountingStrong knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulationsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlinesRecent experience managing tax engagementsUp-to-date working knowledge of U.S. accounting, tax principles & IRS regulationsStrong leadership and communication skillsProactive individual with the ability to work independently and collaborativelyCuriosity/eagerness to learn and to teach and share knowledgeProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (required)Experience with QuickBooks & QuickBooks Online (required)Experience with CCH/Axcess – Tax, Scan/Autoflow, Workflow, Document, Engagement (preferred)The Perks!Career growth opportunitiesAnnual salary range: $100k - $140k (based on experience)Paid holidays and paid time offFull benefits including:401k and profit-sharing planMedicalDentalVisionHSAFSALife Insurance
