Open Rank Associate Professor/Professor in Fluid Biomarkers

Job Overview Associate or Full Professor in Fluid Biomarkers (tenure‑track) at Rutgers Health / RWJMS, under the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Research Center at the Brain Health Institute. Lead and conduct cutting‑edge research in fluid biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related disorders (ADRD), develop and manage a longitudinal cohort of high‑risk individuals, and mentor early‑career investigators. Responsibilities Develop and lead an independent, extramurally funded research program focused on fluid biomarkers for AD/ADRD. Design and execute large‑scale longitudinal biomarker studies, including assay development, validation, and data analysis. Collaborate with neurologists, neuropsychologists, neuroimaging experts, neuropathologists, and other multidisciplinary teams. Write and submit grant proposals to secure external funding. Publish manuscripts based on cohort data and contribute to high‑impact scientific literature. Serve as a mentor and coach for students, post‑doctoral fellows, junior faculty, and other trainees. Develop and maintain a well‑phenotyped dementia risk cohort with harmonizable biomarker protocols. Communicate research findings to academic and non‑academic audiences, including community partners and public policy leaders. Qualifications Ph.D. and/or M.D. with specialization in Alzheimer’s disease, neurology, psychiatry, biochemistry, or related field. Established scholarly record, including NIH (or other extramural) funding, and peer‑reviewed publications on AD/ADRD. Experience in fluid biomarker discovery, assay development, and validation. Proficiency in statistical and data‑analysis techniques for biomarker data. Record of multidisciplinary collaborations and mentorship. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
