Job Code: 36156 Job Description This position is primarily responsible for the assembly of high‑reliability electronic devices using tools such as soldering irons, hotplates, crimping devices, and torque drivers. The candidate must be able to work under a microscope, perform tinning, hand soldering of SMT, through‑hole, fine‑pitch components, wiring, epoxy and conformal coating, mechanical assembly using torque drivers, and general clean‑up. Tasks may involve repetitive operations and exposure to chemical odors (e.g., alcohol, conformal coat, epoxy). The role requires precise, high quality work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Essential Functions Read assembly drawings, BOM, wire list, engineering change orders, rework instructions, and process control instructions Work as an independent contributor with limited supervision; provide expertise as needed Operate under a microscope during assembly Tin components using a solder pot Hand solder SMT, through‑hole, fine pitch components, and wiring Perform cleaning, epoxy application, and conformal coating Execute mechanical assembly using torque drivers Communicate effectively in oral and written form Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail Plan and execute work schedules in coordination with hardware schedule requirements Manufacture all hardware across one or more product lines Qualifications Minimum 6 years of SMT and through‑hole soldering experience Familiarity with wiring, harness assembly and coax cable assembly Preferred: certification in J‑STD‑001 Class3 High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience 2 years post‑secondary/associate’s degree with minimum 2 years of related experience Ability to read documentation, drawings and process control instructions Basic computing proficiency (Windows) Must obtain a security clearance Benefits Salary range in California: $47,500 - $88,500, depending on experience and location.
