Shift: 12-Hour Days

Hours/Week: 36-40

Employment Type: Contract

Required Licenses/Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience; First-time travelers must meet experience criteria

Patient Types: Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Post-Op, COVID, CHF, COPD, DVT/PE, Sepsis, Cellulitis, GI surgeries

Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5-6 (day), 1:6 (night); CNA: 2 per shift (adjusted by census)

Hourly Rate: $46.90/hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide compassionate nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
• Monitor patient vitals and clinical conditions, including ECG interpretation
• Manage wound care, JP drains, wound vacs, and Hemodialysis catheters
• Administer medications, including PCA and pain management protocols
• Support patient recovery following surgeries such as total joints and GI procedures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, therapists, and support staff
• Demonstrate compliance with hospital policies and safety standards

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency in wound management, IV placement, and ECG interpretation
• Ability to pass a competency exam prior to start
• Strong clinical skills and adaptability to float across various Medical/Surgical units
