What You'll Do

As a Patient Care Coordinator / Pharmacy Technician , you'll be a key member of the patient support team, helping ensure patients receive their specialty medications accurately and on time.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating prescription refills and medication shipments with patients and caregivers
• Delivering exceptional customer service and building trusted patient relationships
• Supporting medication adherence and helping patients stay on therapy
• Processing new prescription orders and refill requests
• Verifying insurance coverage, benefits, and payment options
• Documenting patient interactions and treatment-related updates
• Collaborating with pharmacists, nurses, providers, and physician offices
• Tracking shipments, deliveries, and order status updates
• Maintaining accurate patient and prescription records
• Assisting with medication fulfillment and pharmacy operations
• Utilizing pharmacy software systems and Microsoft Excel to support workflows and reporting
• Ensuring patients receive medications and supplies accurately and efficiently

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialty pharmacy experience
• Prior authorization knowledge
• Patient access, reimbursement, or benefits investigation experience
• Healthcare call center experience
• Experience using pharmacy systems or healthcare technology platforms
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply

Schedule & Work Environment Training Period

• Monday-Friday
• 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
• Onsite in the Northwest Chicago suburbs

After Training

• Monday-Friday
• Schedules between:
• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
• 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Hybrid Schedule

• 2 days onsite
• 3 days remote

Compensation

Pay Rate: $23-$25/hr

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
