CT Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist for an overnight travel assignment in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in CT imaging, radiography, contrast administration, trauma imaging, and advanced CT procedures across diverse patient populations. This role requires excellent technical expertise, patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in emergency and acute care settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Operate CT and radiographic imaging equipment safely and effectively.
• Prepare and administer contrast media in compliance with safety guidelines and state regulations.
• Perform advanced CT imaging procedures including brain perfusion, coronary CTA, vascular studies, trauma imaging, and multiplanar reconstructions.
• Ensure accurate patient positioning, image acquisition, and radiation safety practices.
• Start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture as needed for contrast-enhanced studies.
• Utilize PACS, RIS, HIS, EMR, and modality-specific software for imaging documentation and workflow management.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care.
• Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs or emergencies.
• Maintain infection control standards and appropriate PPE protocols.
• Support imaging services for patients across all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Participate in orientation, training modules, and departmental compliance activities as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and completion of an accredited Radiography program required.
• Active NYS Radiography license and NYS contrast injection certification required.
• Current ARRT-R, ARRT-CT, and AHA BLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of Diagnostic Imaging experience required; recent CT experience preferred.
• Experience in trauma, ED, ICU, and acute care imaging preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, and EPIC preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CT procedures, contrast administration, radiation safety, and infection control required.
• Experience with GE, Siemens, and Toshiba CT systems preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical exemptions only); Flu vaccine required.
• Must be available for overnight shifts (12:00 AM – 8:00 AM) with alternating weekends.

Important Details:

• 8-week contract position (extensions available)
• Shift is 8 hrs/overnight shifts (12:00 AM – 8:00 AM), 40 hrs/week
• Location is New York City, NY 10034
• Pay Range for Locals: $65 - $70 per hour
• Pay Range for Travelers: $3,150 - $3,200 per week
