Accountant II

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial data and reports
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and
- Coordinate and process 1099 reporting
- Assist with annual audits and state examinations, including preparation of
- Support payment processing and banking transactions
- Assist with commission processing, including monthly and annual
- Provide support on special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Serve as backup for other accounting functions and assist in training junior
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within P&C insurance
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and resolve discrepancies
- Collaborative team player with a customer-service mindset
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Familiarity with insurance accounting, statutory reporting, or regulatory
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory examinations
- AIAF designation (or progress toward designation) preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Continuous improvement mindset with focus on process efficiency
- Public accounting experience a plus but not a requirement
