Concrete Foreman

Location: Honolulu, HI -- Government and commercial projects throughout Oahu

Hawaii Works , Inc. performs government and commercial concrete, civil, infrastructure, and site-work projects throughout Oahu. We are strengthening our project delivery operation through clearer responsibilities, better planning, disciplined field leadership, and higher performance standards.

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Foreman who can lead a high-performing crew and execute the daily work plan developed with the Superintendent. You will be responsible for daily crew leadership, concrete production, safety, quality, reporting, and jobsite organization. This position is designed for a leader who knows how to prepare for successful placements, identify field problems early, develop employees, and deliver work that meets plans, specifications, schedules, and finish requirements.

The Project Manager owns contracts, finances, change orders, and owner communication. The Superintendent owns overall field planning, scheduling, manpower, equipment, materials, and major coordination. As the Foreman , you will own the crew and the successful execution of each day's work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct daily concrete crew activities.
• Communicate the daily work plan and concrete pour plan.
• Organize labor, materials, tools, and equipment before work begins.
• Achieve assigned production goals and communicate obstacles immediately.
• Verify forms, reinforcing steel, embeds, blockouts, and pour readiness.
• Ensure concrete work follows approved plans, specifications, elevations, and finish requirements.
• Oversee structural and cast-in-place concrete operations.
• Coordinate work involving footings, walls, columns, decks, slabs, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, gutters, and hardscape.
• Lead formwork, shoring, reinforcing steel, demolition, replacement, and repair activities.
• Maintain safe, clean, organized, and inspection-ready job sites.
• Track production quantities, labor hours, and concrete yardage.
• Submit accurate daily reports and timecards.
• Report field problems, delays, or material issues early.
• Reduce preventable rework, waste, downtime, and production losses.
• Train and develop Leadmen and crew members.
• Hold crew members accountable in a professional and respectful manner. 

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience leading concrete crews as a Foreman, Working Foreman, Leadman, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of formwork, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, finishing, and curing.
• Experience with structural, commercial, government, civil, or infrastructure concrete projects.
• Ability to read plans, specifications, structural drawings, elevations, and construction details.
• Ability to organize crews, plan daily activities, and track production.
• Strong safety awareness and clear communication skills.
• OSHA 30 certification or willingness to complete company-paid training within 60 days.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Availability for scheduled early-morning, night, weekend, and extended-hour assignments.
• Ability to support highway closures and other project-specific schedules when required.
• Humble, team-oriented, accountable, and solution-driven approach.
• Demonstrated ability, motivation, and capacity to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.

Pay and Benefits

• Full-time, W-2 Employment
• Base pay: $60 - $65 per hour, depending on experience
• Weekly pay
• Overtime paid in accordance with applicable federal and state law
• Primarily Monday through Friday
• Typical daytime schedule of 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., depending on the project
