The City of Lodi, WI is seeking a team-oriented candidate to join the Lodi Police Department. This is a part-time, non-exempt position without benefits. The authorized wage range is $29.07 - $36.95 per hour (commensurate with experience and qualifications).

The City of Lodi Police Department is a full-service police organization that provides safety and enforcement services to more than 3,000 city residents.

Tools and equipment used by the Police Officer includes but is not limited to police vehicle, radios and related communication equipment, radar gun, computers, firearms, conducted energy weapons, intoxilyzer, Preliminary Breath Test (PBT), Oleoresin Capsicum (OC), and cameras. Proficient in Microsoft programs including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other city and police specific programs.

Essential Physical Job Requirements: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively on the telephone and in person. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Capable of sitting for long periods. Performance of routine tasks associated with this position requires a capacity to intermittently sit, talk, hear and see. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, run, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, jump, climb, kick or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, turn, or crawl, push or pull objects and people, drive at high speeds; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and or move moderately heavy objects (over one hundred pounds) objects.

Statement of Working Conditions: The performance of tasks may involve physical risk to safety and health of police officers operating under emergency conditions increased stress levels, and may require the use of firearms. Work maybe performed out of doors and in inclement weather. Work schedules may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime work hours.

Position Accountability: Reports To: Police Sergeant Supervision Exercised: None Selection Guidelines: The selection procedure may consist of any or all of the following: Initial interview, background investigation, Police Commission interview, psychological evaluation, and physical examination with alcohol/drug screening. Other procedures may be included as necessary. This position is appointed by the Chief of Police subject to approval by the Police Commission. The position description does not constitute an employment agreement between the employer and employee and is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and the requirements of the job change.
