Machine / Punch Press Operator

We're looking for an experienced Machine/Punch Press Operator to join our fabrication team. This role involves setting up and operating punch press equipment, working with sheet metal, making machine adjustments, and performing basic machine maintenance. Candidates must have previous machine operating experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. Experience only in food production or food manufacturing will not be considered for this position.

What You'll Do

• Set up punch press machines, tooling, and dies for production runs
• Operate punch press equipment to produce sheet metal parts
• Measure, prepare, and handle sheet metal materials accurately
• Make machine adjustments to ensure quality and production efficiency
• Perform minor machine repairs and basic maintenance
• Operate additional fabrication equipment such as press brakes and shears
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow production schedules and work orders
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Work with team members to meet production goals

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience setting up and operating punch press machines
• Experience working in a metal fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing environment
• Ability to read measurements and work with sheet metal accurately
• Experience making machine adjustments and troubleshooting basic issues
• Experience with press brakes, shears, or other fabrication equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to follow work instructions and production requirements
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Must Have

• Prior machine operator experience in a metal fabrication, sheet metal, or industrial manufacturing environment
• Experience working with metal products and fabrication equipment
• Food production or food manufacturing experience alone will not be considered for this role

Nice to Have

• Trade school, technical training, or manufacturing certifications
• Additional fabrication experience
• Experience performing basic machine maintenance and repairs
• Ability to learn and operate additional fabrication equipment

Someone with hands-on experience operating machines in a metal fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing environment, who is comfortable making machine setups and adjustments, working with measurements, and producing quality metal parts in a production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
