Neuro Stepdown Nurse Registered Nurse Stepdown Neuro Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Stepdown or Tele Unit, Travel Experience Preferred License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be comfortable with patient ratios between 1:3-5. Previous charge experience preferred. Experience with Epic charting system required. Community hospital experience required. Description: Neuro Stepdown Nurse needed. Candidates must be experienced in stepdown or telemetry units. This position involves working with acute care patients on a combination unit. Patients may include those recovering from cranial surgeries, strokes, and other neurological conditions. The nurse will manage various medical devices and protocols. Daily responsibilities will include monitoring patients, administering medications, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. On-call status may be needed as required by unit demands. Candidates should have skills in managing ports, airway management, wound care, and telemetry monitoring. Experience with trauma patients is preferred but not mandatory. Nurses will work with a daily census of approximately 29 patients. Additional unit support includes therapy services, phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy. This role requires proactive participation in patient care and rapid response procedures. A successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
