Staff Accountant (Full-Time) | Accounting Services Team | Capital Region, NY

Position Overview 

As a Staff Accountant at CEFO Advisors, you will support multiple clients across a variety of industries while building a strong foundation in outsourced accounting. You will work closely with our Controllers and CFO team to keep client financials accurate, timely, and reliable. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to grow, curious about how technology is reshaping the accounting profession, and excited to be a part of a forward-thinking team. 

You must be based within 60 miles of Saratoga Springs, NY and able to commute to our offices and client sites as needed. 

Job Responsibilities

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness 
• Prepare month-end workbooks and support the close process 
• Record and review journal entries, including recurring entries 
• Process day-to-day transactions and maintain clean, reliable books 
• Interface with clients on bookkeeping and general accounting questions 
• Assist in producing client-centric financial reports 
• Identify inefficiencies and support accounting best practices 
• Adapt quickly to various client systems and workflows

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in accounting
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles 
• Confident with Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn new tools
• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage products, or similar ERP systems is a plus! 
• Strong technology skills and comfort with modern cloud-based tools 
• Exceptional interpersonal and client service skills 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Confidentiality and promptness are of utmost importance 
• Must be based within 60 miles of Albany, NY
