We have an immediate need for three (3) locum Emergency Room Physicians to provide emergency medicine care for our veteran population at the VA Central California Health Care System located in Fresno, CA. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on veterans lives while experiencing the unique beauty of California s Central Valley near the Sierra Nevadas!

These are 5-year Long Term contract positions!

Physicians shall be responsible for providing care in the Emergency Department, including, but not limited to:

• Evaluation, Emergent Treatment and Management
• Major procedures such as central venous line placement, arterial catheter placement, emergency chest tube or needle thoracostomy to relieve tension pneumothorax, peritoneal lavage, defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion, additional procedures available upon request
• Stabilization and transfer
• Inpatient Admissions
• Consultation and Referral Responsibilities
• Medications
• Discharge education
• Communication of Test Results

Must have completed a residency and be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.

Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks.

Hours & Schedule:

• ER is open 24 x 7 x 365
• Schedule: Physicians work 12 or 8 hour shifts in various combinations from 7pm-7am;7am 7pm, 8am-8pm, 9am-9pm, 10am-10pm, 10am-6pm, 12 pm -10 pm and 2pm-10pm.

• Current CV without any gaps over 30 days since completion of medical school- written explanations are accepted
• One active, unrestricted State License in any state
• Current DEA
• BLS- American Heart Association (AHA) required
• 3 Current References
• Signed LOI
