Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Critical Safety is searching for a dynamic Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager. In this position the person will be responsible for protecting the organization against financial loss by researching, identifying and preparing paperwork related to safety issues, performing project safety inspections, and interacting with field management to prepare job hazard analyses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following, but other duties may be assigned: Participating in workplace safety and health planning meetings. Ensuring managers and supervisors have the appropriate safety and health; accident prevention; and investigation training. Ensure that managers/supervisors provide safety training and information to workers. Providing leadership in developing measures and practices that that prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA standards. Continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous safety and health conditions. Ensure safety and health hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded. Assessing engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis. Assisting in the investigation of accidents. This includes: Identifying hazardous situations that are associated with the accident. Ensure the results of safety inspections are documented; monitoring the investigation of accidents and injuries; ensuring that corrective actions are taken; and providing recommendations for ways to prevent similar accidents

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must have 5 + years' work related experience in safety. Must be knowledgeable of Safety Management and OSHA Compliance. Strong interpersonal skills. Must have strong analyzing information and judgment skills. Maintain active participation in the Government safety community to track and identify new procedures and ways of performing work in a safer manner. Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must demonstrate ability to effectively document, organize and manage multiple projects.
