Location: Mesa, Arizona Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 1st shift, Monday - Friday; 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Compensation Range: $25.00 per hour - $30.00 per hour

Strive Pharmacy is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Compounding Mechanical Specialist to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of equipment used throughout the compounding laboratory and production environment. This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, basic repairs, calibration support, and ensuring critical compounding and packaging equipment remains operational to support efficient pharmacy operations.

Working closely with the Facility Manager, Compounding Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Quality Assurance, and Compounding Leadership, the Compounding Mechanical Specialist helps maximize equipment reliability, minimize production downtime, and maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

• Equipment Maintenance & Preventive Care: Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, complete basic repairs, maintain maintenance schedules, coordinate internal and external service activities, and document completed work to ensure equipment reliability and operational readiness.
• Compounding & Production Equipment Support: Maintain and support critical laboratory and production equipment, including biological safety cabinets, analytical balances, unguators, filling machines, bottle labeling equipment, Zebra printers, air compressors, conveyor systems, and other compounding-related machinery.
• Calibration, Documentation & Compliance: Assist with equipment calibration activities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain equipment records, ensure documentation is complete and audit-ready, and support compliance with United States Pharmacopeia (USP) <795> , USP <800> , applicable State Board of Pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
• Vendor Coordination & Inventory Management: Build and maintain relationships with equipment vendors, coordinate service needs, troubleshoot equipment issues with external partners, and maintain appropriate inventory levels of replacement parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
• Equipment Training & Technical Support: Train and support team members on proper equipment operation, conduct equipment competency assessments, provide technical guidance, and promote safe and efficient use of laboratory and production equipment.
• Operational Support & Workflow Collaboration: Partner with Compounding Leadership to coordinate maintenance activities while minimizing workflow disruptions; provide production support as needed and assist Fulfillment, Facilities, and other operational teams during periods of increased demand.
• Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration: Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, workflow efficiency, and maintenance processes while fostering a positive, team-first culture through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production, laboratory, or manufacturing equipment.
• Active Pharmacy Technician license. Candidates who do not currently hold an active license may be considered, provided they obtain it within the first 90 days of employment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors, and use basic computer systems for documentation, maintenance tracking, and communication.

• Experience working in a pharmaceutical, compounding pharmacy, manufacturing, laboratory, or other regulated production environment.
• Experience maintaining, assembling, disassembling, cleaning, calibrating, and troubleshooting production or laboratory equipment, including filling and bottling equipment, conveyor systems, laser/inkjet printers, analytical balances, or similar equipment.
• Working knowledge of AccuTek SVF filling systems or comparable automated filling equipment, along with familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, equipment documentation, and regulatory compliance.

This position is primarily based in an onsite compounding laboratory and production environment. The role requires standing and walking for up to 90% of the workday, frequent movement throughout production areas, and occasional lifting of equipment or materials up to 65 lbs. Team members must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a respirator, and safely work around laboratory chemicals, machinery, and cleaning agents.

Hourly Pay Rate

$25—$30 USD
