Billing Specialist

Role Summary:

Seeking a Senior Client Accounting Coordinator to provide legal billing, client account analysis, and financial support to partners and practice groups . The role involves managing complex billing matters, reviewing outstanding balances, preparing invoices and supporting documentation, resolving billing issues, and coordinating with attorneys, clients, secretaries, and internal business services teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple complex billing and client account analysis projects.
• Prepare client bills, invoices, and required supporting documentation.
• Review outstanding balances and proactively address billing/collection issues.
• Coordinate with attorneys, clients, secretaries, and internal teams on billing requests and inquiries.
• Troubleshoot issues, escalate concerns, and recommend solutions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and partner billing records.
• Support departmental workflow and help improve billing processes.
• Train, mentor, and assist junior Client Accounting staff.
• Provide backup leadership when the supervisor/manager is unavailable.
• Handle confidential and sensitive financial/client information.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing shifting priorities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of legal billing experience , including client account analysis.
• Experience with Aderant, Elite, or 3E .
• Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with attorneys and internal stakeholders.

Ideal Profile:

A senior legal billing professional with strong Aderant/Elite/3E experience , solid client account analysis skills, and the ability to independently manage complex billing issues while also mentoring junior team members and taking on leadership responsibilities .
