Legal Recruiting Coordinator

Position Summary McGinnis Lochridge is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Legal Recruiting Coordinator to support the firm’s attorney recruiting, law student hiring, and summer associate programs. Working closely with the Attorney Development & Recruiting Manager, this position plays an important role in delivering a seamless and professional recruiting experience for candidates, attorneys, and firm leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment. This role requires strong communication and project-management skills, sound judgment, discretion, and a commitment to providing an exceptional candidate experience. Essential Responsibilities Attorney Recruiting Coordinate all phases of lateral attorney and law student recruiting, including job postings, resume review, candidate communications, interview scheduling, and search firm coordination. Coordinate interview logistics, including identifying appropriate interviewers, scheduling interviews, collecting evaluations, preparing feedback summaries, and arranging candidate travel as needed. Conduct research and assist with sourcing potential lateral candidates through LinkedIn, legal databases, bar publications, and other resources. Coordinate candidate due diligence, including bar verification, background and reference checks, conflicts information, and other required documentation. Prepare, distribute, and track offer and candidate correspondence. Maintain accurate candidate records and recruiting data in the firm’s recruiting systems. Partner with the Recruiting Manager, hiring attorneys, and other firm departments to support the onboarding and integration of new attorneys. Law Student Recruiting Coordinate 1L and 2L recruiting activities, including resume review, screening interviews, callback interviews, and candidate communications. Coordinate and support the firm’s participation in on-campus interviewing (OCI) programs, law school job fairs, and other student recruiting programs, including registration, interviewer scheduling, candidate selection, interview materials, and post-interview follow-up. Serve as a point of contact with law school career services offices regarding OCI programs, job fairs, resume collections, recruiting timelines, and other campus recruiting opportunities. Assist with identifying and evaluating law schools, job fairs, and recruiting programs that align with the firm’s hiring needs and recruiting strategy. Coordinate attorney participation in campus interviews, job fairs, networking events, panel discussions, and other law school recruiting activities. Assist with planning and executing law school receptions, informational sessions, networking events, and other programs designed to build relationships with prospective candidates. Coordinate travel and logistics for attorneys participating in campus recruiting and job fairs, as needed. Manage candidate follow-up, offers, and other correspondence following campus interviews and recruiting events. Maintain recruiting schedules, candidate records, and reporting related to law student and campus recruiting activities. Summer Associate Program Assist with the planning and execution of the firm’s summer associate program, including orientation, training, work assignments, evaluations, social events, and travel. Coordinate day-to-day summer program schedules, including attorney lunches, meetings, social activities, and other programming. Plan and coordinate summer associate events, including researching venues and vendors, obtaining proposals, managing logistics, and providing on-site support when needed. Track summer program expenses and assist with budget management. Coordinate the evaluation and feedback process and assist with preparation of summer associate offers. Recruiting Operations Maintain recruiting databases, reports, metrics, budgets, surveys, and department records. Manage recruiting-related job postings, search firm agreements, invoices, reimbursements, and expense processing. Assist with market and competitive research related to attorney recruiting. Coordinate conflict-of-interest and background research processes for prospective hires in accordance with firm policies and ethical requirements, and provide backup support to the Conflicts Coordinator as needed. Collaborate with Human Resources, IT, Marketing, Finance, and other departments to support a smooth onboarding experience. Provide in-person support to candidates visiting firm offices and serve as a professional and welcoming representative of McGinnis Lochridge. Provide administrative and project support to the Recruiting Manager and recruiting initiatives as needed. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 2+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or related experience in a law firm, legal environment, or professional services organization preferred. Prior experience supporting attorney or law student recruiting is strongly preferred. Experience with applicant tracking systems, recruiting databases, or similar technology preferred. Experience with on-campus interviewing preferred. Skills & Abilities Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact professionally and confidently with attorneys, candidates, firm leadership, law schools, search firms, and business professionals. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong follow-through, initiative, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team. Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information. Strong client-service orientation and commitment to providing an excellent candidate experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning recruiting databases and other technology platforms. Additional Requirements Flexibility to work additional hours during peak recruiting periods and the summer associate program. Ability to travel periodically for recruiting events, summer programming, and inter-office activities; travel may be up to approximately 20%. This position follows a hybrid schedule, with four days in the office and one remote workday each week. The remote workday may vary based on recruiting events and business needs.
