Accounting Manager

Job Description Description: We are currently seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our Finance team as an Accounting Manager. This is a full-time role working on-site in Chantilly, VA. GTSC is a dynamic Government contracting firm that offers IT, consulting, and engineering services directly to the Federal Government or other prime contracting companies. Our staff members are experts in all aspects of IT and support services for the country's veteran community. As part of the accounting team, the Accounting Manager will be hands-on and lead core accounting functions, including, but not limited to, the General Ledger, Payroll, and AP/AR. We are looking for an Accounting Manager who is energetic and excited about a long-term future with the company. This person will report to the Controller. Primary Responsibilities Drive the monthly accounting close process, including journal entry processing, GL account reconciliations, and supporting analysis of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained. Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, leases, and intercompany, including monthly analysis Detailed Balance Sheet Reconciliations to Workpapers Assist in preparing operational analyses, analyzing overhead expenses, finding and reporting explanations for variances, and making recommendations for cost optimization. Oversee fixed assets accounting, tax depreciation, roll forward, and tax depreciation expense for tax filing. Prepares monthly accrual journal entries. Manages workflow to ensure all labor accounting, accounts payables, and payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. Assist employees with any payroll-related questions. Collaborate and support with other functional departments within the organization. Ability to backup any of various accounting functions when needed Performs Monthly Bank Reconciliations Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
