Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. They serve as a resource for staff and exemplify a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby supporting an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitates admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Engages in ongoing assessments of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
• Works with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
• Promotes a patient-first philosophy and participates in service recovery when necessary.
• Contributes to improving staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
• Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, and recommends actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
• Helps maintain proper inventory control and assists in managing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Labor and Delivery RN is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Must be a Registered Nurse.
• An Associate Degree is required.
