Experienced Paralegal — Thompson, Guildner & Associates, Inc., P.S. (Full‑Time) Location: Snohomish, Washington (in‑office Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri; remote optional Thu) Start date: Immediate (or as agreed) Reports to: Managing Partner Thompson, Guildner & Associates, Inc., P.S. is seeking an experienced paralegal to join a busy private law practice. Civil litigation experience is required. This is a primarily in‑office role for a detail‑oriented professional who can manage complex casework, support trial preparation, and communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and third parties. You will be offered to work remotely on Thursdays. This schedule may be adjusted in the future, but at this time the Firm’s needs call for in‑office every weekday except for Thursdays. Key responsibilities Manage case files from intake through resolution; maintain organized physical and electronic case files. Draft and prepare litigation documents including complaints, answers, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, affidavits, and correspondence. E‑file and calendar court deadlines, hearings, and statute‑of‑limitations dates; monitor and maintain litigation calendars. Discovery management: coordinate document collection, review, Bates‑stamp, privilege logs, and production; manage e‑discovery vendors as needed. Trial and deposition support: prepare exhibits, witness binders, trial notebooks, and demonstratives; attend depositions and trials to provide on‑site support. Client and third party communication: serve as a primary point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, court clerks, interpreters, and expert witnesses. Legal research and case preparation: assist attorneys with factual research, cite‑checking, and assembling legal memoranda. Court deliveries and attendance: attend court with attorneys when needed and deliver working copies, etc. to court as needed. Municipal work: preparation of Ordinances and Resolutions; preparation of contracts, policy manual, and legal Memorandums; public records request fulfillment; civil litigation and real estate work as detailed elsewhere; and other duties for municipal clients. Probate work: review information provided by clients/attorneys, prepare Probate pleadings based on templates, e-file pleadings when appropriate, submit notices to newspapers for debtor’s publication, correspond directly with clients and related parties. Estate planning work: review information provided by clients/attorneys, prepare Estate Planning documents based on templates, correspond directly with clients for review, assist with execution of documents. Real estate work: prepare various types of deeds, real estate excise tax affidavits and supporting forms, communicate with clients about various real estate transactions including sales, easements, right‑of‑way work, etc.; handle in‑person or electronic recording of real estate documents as needed. County recording in‑person: deliver original documents to Snohomish or Skagit County for recording and processing by the treasurer. Legal assistant duties: perform normal office functions which would typically fall under the role of a legal assistant, including mailing, scanning, printing, answering the phone, etc. Client intake and scheduling support: support and provide coverage for the client intake specialist as needed. Other duties as assigned: provide general support to attorneys and other staff as needed. Required qualifications Minimum two years of civil litigation paralegal experience (preferably in Washington state). Strong drafting skills and demonstrated experience preparing pleadings, motions, and discovery. Proficiency with e‑filing systems and court procedures in Washington. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines. Professional communication skills with clients and other legal professionals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), proficiency with professional PDF software, and experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar). Ability to work in‑office full‑time . Preferred qualifications Paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies. Experience with e‑discovery platforms and document review tools. Familiarity with legal research platforms (Westlaw, Lexis). Prior experience supporting trial‑level civil litigation and complex discovery. Notary License and experience with notarizing legal documents.
