Education LevelHigh SchoolCategoryEducation## Description**SUMMARY:**Substitute Teacher assumes the full role and responsibilities of the Teacher in his/her absence, provides support to regular classroom staff for the establishment, maintenance and management of all classroom activities.**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Implements daily lesson plans and daily schedules.* Organizes and maintains learning centers within the classroom.* Maintains order by using positive approaches to behavior management.* Recruits volunteers and solicits in-kind contributions.* Attends meetings, trainings and workshop as required.* Maintains cleanliness of classrooms and adjoining restrooms.* Serves as an advocate for the Head Start Program, families and children.* Performs other duties as assigned.## QualificationsMinimum Requirements:* High School Diploma and/or GED **and*** At least one year experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare settingPreferred Qualifications:* Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Implements daily lesson plans and daily schedules.* Organizes and maintains learning centers within the classroom.* Maintains order by using positive approaches to behavior management.* Recruits volunteers and solicits in-kind contributions.* Attends meetings, trainings and workshop as required.* Maintains cleanliness of classrooms and adjoining restrooms.* Serves as an advocate for the Head Start Program, families and children.* Performs other duties as assigned.**CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATION:*** Must have current driver's license and access to use of automobile with current insurance.* Current CDA or AA in ECE required**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
