Substitute Teacher 2026-2027

Community High School District 155 invites passionate and dependable educators to join the team as substitute teachers. In District 155, our mission is to help all students and staff "Enter with Promise. Leave with Purpose."\ We strive to inspire a passion for lifelong learning, empower staff and students to reach their highest potential, and nurture an inclusive, supportive environment where each individual can thrive. Substitute pay is calculated on the number of periods of student contact. This includes periods during which courses are taught and supervision is assigned, but does not include planning or lunch periods. A typical teacher schedule includes 5 course periods and 1 assigned supervision, totalling 6 periods of student contact during the 9-period school day. This breaks down to $25.06 per period. Assignments that are less than or more than the typical 6 student contact periods will be paid accordingly at the same per-period rate. Please view the Substitute Paraprofessional or Long-Term Substitute postings for compensation and details specific to those positions. We look forward to welcoming a leader who will champion our mission and values while making a meaningful impact on our district's students, staff, and families. This position is not eligible for medical benefits; the District will pay 1/2 of TRS deductions. #J-18808-Ljbffr Sylvania
