We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a transport organization in Port Everglades, Florida. This Contract position will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing tax-related documentation, and contributing to timely month-end activities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on experience with SAP, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and complete financial records.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Support corporate tax processes, including the preparation of documentation and filings.
• Manage sales tax activities by reviewing transactions, calculating obligations, and assisting with submissions.
• Help compile information required for corporate tax return preparation and related compliance tasks.
• Use SAP to record accounting activity, generate reports, and monitor financial data integrity.
• Assist with month-end and period-end close procedures to keep accounting timelines on track.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve day-to-day financial operations.• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Knowledge of corporate tax, including exposure to corporate tax return support.
• Practical experience handling sales tax transactions and compliance activities.
• Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger processes.
• Hands-on experience using SAP in an accounting or finance environment.
• Ability to analyze financial information accurately and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a Contract role.
