Job Summary Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing Disciplines Impact of the Role General ProfileRequires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines Solves complex problems Works independently, receives minimal guidanceMay lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experienceConsistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions · Develops and executes sourcing strategy, evaluates product offerings, recommendssuppliers, and negotiates contracts for assigned categories or departments.· Gathers business requirements and identifies and pre-qualifies potential suppliers.· Develops and distributes RFPs/RFQs and collects bids or other information.· Evaluates proposals/quotes based on offering quality, cost, or other criteria and recommendssuppliers that are best suited to meet the organization's requirements.· Works with selected suppliers to develop mutually acceptable contractual agreements.· May oversee tactical purchasing operations, such as the issuance of purchase orders or thepayment of invoices.· Ensures that all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or ExperienceCritical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's DegreeDiscipline/Major: Business, Supply Chain or related degreeKnowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Decision-making skills. Oral and written communication skills. Analytical thinking skills. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
