Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Overview
The Mobile Equipment Mechanic maintains and repairs all mobile and heavy equipment, including forklifts, shuttle trucks, trailers, pick-up trucks, cranes, and manlifts.
Primary Responsibilities
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and damaged parts
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance work; installing component and part upgrades, completing winterization procedures, and addressing work orders.
- Corrects vehicle deficiencies by repairing and adjusting components related to fuel, brake, steering, and hydraulic systems.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
Required Qualifications And Skills
Working knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems, including repair and preventive maintenance Ability to use hand tools and power tools Availability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime shifts.
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods standing and walking. Ability to access equipment and areas for repair via ladders, stairs and steps. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work overhead or in confined spaces. Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
