Therma, a Legence company, is a leading mechanical contracting firm in San Jose, California. The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in fostering the company’s HR strategy by supporting the implementation of HR strategies and procedures across the business unit. Key Responsibilities Assist in the implementation of Legence's HR strategies and initiatives, ensuring alignment with our overall business strategy. Partner with the HRBP and TA team in the recruitment and selection process, ensuring recruitment and onboarding experience embodies Legence’s and the Business Unit’s values. Support performance management and employee development by partnering with the HRBP and TD team in the rollout and management of development initiatives including Succession Planning, Employee Engagement, and Performance Management and Development. Identify employee relations issues and work with the HRBP to address issues with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency, while working towards timely and satisfactory resolutions. Maintain HR records and files in compliance with legal requirements, including personnel files, performance review documentation, and recruitment records. Keep up to date on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and help ensure compliance. Assist in the rollout of Legence employee policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across the business unit. Participate in the development of department goals, objectives, and systems. Performs other duties as assigned. In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong people focus and ability to collaborate with and support the organization to successfully help roll out initiatives. Strong project and change management skills, with the ability to act as a change agent. Learning agility, adaptability, flexibility of approach, and the capability to upskill quickly. Ability to thrive in ambiguity and navigate through a complex, multi-faceted organization. Must be comfortable living in the grey and not be completely process driven. Solution-oriented mindset and a creative problem solver able to operate in resource-constrained environments. Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and proactively identify and resolve issues. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in the complete Microsoft Office suite of applications. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an HR environment. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation & benefits, employee relations, training & development, talent acquisition, HR compliance, etc. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
