Afterschool Program Manager Young Musicians Unite Location: Miami-Dade County (In-Person) Full Time | Exempt Salary range: $53,000–$55,000 About Young Musicians Unite Young Musicians Unite (YMU) is on a mission to provide free, high-quality music education to every student in Miami-Dade, regardless of socio-economic background. We collaborate with schools to inspire personal development, foster community, and prepare future leaders through in-school and after-school music programs. Our unique approach focuses on building a comprehensive music education pathway for 5th–12th grade students, with a strong emphasis on Title I schools. Position Summary We are seeking an Afterschool & Pipeline Program Manager to lead and scale the next phase of YMU’s After School programs and student pipelines across Miami-Dade. This role is central to the growth and future of our programs , ensuring that students progress meaningfully from beginner to advanced levels and that After School opportunities serve as both an artistic and leadership incubator for our young musicians. The Program Manager will design and manage after school pathways, lead the Student Ambassador Program and Mentorship Program , and connect student development with YMU’s broader ecosystem of school partnerships, performances, festivals, and community engagement. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role that collaborates across departments — including Regional Managers, Curriculum, Production, and Marketing — and plays a critical part in driving student engagement, retention, and long-term outcomes . Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Pipeline Development Design and implement a scalable model for afterschool program expansion across Miami-Dade schools. Strengthen the pipeline between beginner, intermediate, and advanced students, ensuring clear progression pathways and opportunities. Align afterschool curriculum and programming with YMU’s in-school offerings and growth opportunities. Lead and oversee the Student Ambassador Program, promoting leadership, community engagement, peer mentoring, and fundraising participation. Develop and manage the Mentorship Program to foster peer-to-peer learning and support within and across schools. Drive student recruitment across all partner schools and afterschool programs, in close coordination with Regional Managers and the Marketing team. Coordinate student placements for public shows, Youth Music Festivals, and community performances with the Production team. Cross-Department Collaboration Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote afterschool and student leadership programs. Serve as the key connector between departments to ensure cohesive student development across YMU’s offerings. Support cross-department operations and help solve key challenges related to student engagement and program alignment. Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Work closely with school administrators and YMU leadership to ensure alignment of afterschool programming with school needs and goals. Serve as the primary point of contact for students and families participating in afterschool and leadership programs. Represent YMU at school events, community showcases, and external engagements. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is: Passionate about equity and access in music education. A strong program designer with experience managing multi-site educational or arts-based programs. Skilled at building student leadership and community engagement pathways. A natural connector and collaboration across teams and with external stakeholders. Highly organized and capable of scaling programs while ensuring quality and alignment. Comfortable working in diverse educational environments, especially with Title I schools. Qualifications 5+ years experience in program management, music education, youth development, or arts education leadership. Strong background in managing leadership and mentoring programs. Proven ability to design and scale afterschool or extracurricular programs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with diverse student populations. Ability to travel across Miami-Dade as needed. Bilingual (English/Spanish or Haitian Creole) a plus but not required.
