We are seeking a Back End Engineer to join our team. This role will involve designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud-native backend applications and REST APIs using Python and AWS serverless technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Python, AWS Lambda, Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB, Liquibase, API development, cloud architecture, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies, with a passion for building secure, highly available, and high-performance backend solutions.

The Back End Engineer will be responsible for developing scalable, reliable, and secure backend applications and APIs using Python and AWS Lambda in a serverless environment. The Back End Engineer will work with AWS cloud services, relational and NoSQL databases, database migration tools, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions to deliver enterprise-grade applications.

The ideal Back End Engineer will have 10+ years of professional experience in software development, with strong expertise in Python, AWS cloud computing, REST API development, Aurora, DynamoDB, and Liquibase.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable REST APIs using Python and AWS Lambda .
• Develop serverless backend applications using AWS Lambda and related AWS cloud services.
• Build secure, reliable, highly available, and high-performance API solutions.
• Integrate APIs with Amazon Aurora and Amazon DynamoDB , ensuring data integrity, scalability, availability, and optimal performance.
• Design and implement efficient database structures, queries, indexes, and data access patterns.
• Create and manage database schema changes, migrations, and version control using Liquibase .
• Develop database migration strategies that support continuous delivery and application releases.
• Implement robust error handling, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting for APIs and database operations.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and API tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Implement secure coding practices and follow AWS security, identity, access, and cloud architecture best practices.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, deployments, and release processes.
• Monitor application health and performance and proactively identify and resolve production issues.
• Analyze application and database performance and implement optimization strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex backend, API, database, and cloud infrastructure issues.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions involving serverless applications, APIs, databases, and AWS cloud services.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, QA teams, DevOps professionals, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable backend solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation covering APIs, architecture, database structures, deployment procedures, and operational processes.
• Support production releases, application upgrades, deployments, and post-release validation.
• Identify opportunities to improve application scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to development processes, automation, testing, and cloud operations.
• Stay current with emerging AWS services, Python development practices, serverless architecture, database technologies, and cloud-native engineering trends.

• 10+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering or application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python development.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs using AWS Lambda .
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud computing and serverless architectures .
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora .
• Hands-on experience with Amazon DynamoDB .
• Strong experience with Liquibase for database schema management and migrations.
• Experience designing and developing scalable backend applications and APIs.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL database concepts.
• Experience with automated testing, troubleshooting, monitoring, and logging.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and secure software development practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with PySpark and distributed data processing.
• Experience with AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and Step Functions .
• Experience with AWS infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation .
• Experience with API authentication and authorization, including OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
• Experience with API performance optimization, caching, throttling, and scalability strategies.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application development.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native application deployment.
• Experience with Git-based source control and branching strategies.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar CI/CD technologies.
• Knowledge of application observability, metrics, distributed logging, and tracing.
• Experience with security scanning, vulnerability management, and secure API development.
• Experience with data modeling and optimization for both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Experience supporting high-volume, highly available production systems.
• Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
