A rapidly growing luxury outdoor living and landscape services company is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead its accounting and finance function. This individual will oversee a small but high-performing team, drive financial reporting and process improvements, and serve as a strategic business partner to ownership. The organization operates multiple locations, generates approximately $15M in annual revenue, and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team consisting of Accounting and HR professionals
• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, AP, AR, cash flow, and budgeting
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership
• Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls across the organization
• Develop reporting dashboards, KPI metrics, and visual financial reports for ownership
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives
• Partner with operational leaders to improve financial visibility and accountability
• Work closely with external CPAs, banking partners, and other advisors
• Assist with HR-related oversight and support organizational growth initiatives
• Serve as a key member of the leadership team and contribute to overall business strategy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred but not required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
• Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience strongly preferred
• Experience supporting businesses with $15M+ in annual revenue
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Experience leading and developing accounting staff
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights
• Advanced technology aptitude with ERP and accounting systems experience
• Experience creating executive-level reporting, dashboards, and KPI analysis
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Preferred Background

• Construction, landscaping, field services, maintenance, project-based, or other operationally focused industries
• Experience with ERP and project-management systems
• Strong process improvement and change management capabilities

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $110,000 - $135,000 DOE
