Job Details

• Employment Type: Locum tenens physician opportunity
• Setting: On-site, hospital-based internal medicine and interventional cardiology coverage
• Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
• Schedule: 1 week per month, Monday through Monday, with preference for the last week of each month
• Duration: Approximately 13 weeks, with ongoing coverage needs
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $5,880 - $6,960
• Start Date: ASAP
• Patient Volume: Inpatient rounding census of approximately 20-40 patients
• Call Expectations: STEMI calls 0-3 per week and 0-2 calls from the house supervisor while on call

Job Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and/or Interventional Cardiology
• Fellowship training in interventional cardiology
• At least 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required
• Ability to provide inpatient rounding and on-call procedural support
• Comfort working within a collaborative cardiology and hospital medicine environment

Responsibilities

• Round on inpatients and manage a daily census of approximately 20-40 patients
• Respond to STEMI calls and provide timely interventional cardiology support
• Cover overflow or unassigned cath lab procedures as needed
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nurses, and the broader cardiology team
• Support safe, high-quality patient care during scheduled coverage blocks and call periods
