Bilingual Client Accountant – English/Spanish Required

South Miami, FL
$60,000–$85,000 per year, depending on experience
Full-Time | On-Site
Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

A growing accounting and financial services firm in  South Miami is seeking an experienced  Bilingual Client Accountant to independently manage the accounting needs of multiple business clients.

This is a hands-on, client-facing accounting position for someone who has worked in a  CPA firm, accounting firm, bookkeeping firm, outsourced accounting firm, or professional accounting services environment .

Because this position communicates directly with both English- and Spanish-speaking clients,  professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

The right candidate will have strong  full-cycle accounting experience and be comfortable managing multiple client accounts from day-to-day accounting and reconciliations through month-end close, financial reporting, and preparation of books for tax purposes.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Bilingual English and Spanish – Required
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience
• Previous CPA firm, accounting firm, public accounting, or outsourced accounting experience
• Strong  full-cycle accounting experience
• Experience managing accounting for  multiple clients, businesses, or entities
• Strong general ledger experience
• Experience preparing journal entries and adjusting entries
• Bank and credit card reconciliation experience
• Month-end and year-end closing experience
• Ability to prepare and understand financial statements
• Experience preparing or closing books for tax preparation
• Strong client communication skills
• Ability to independently manage assigned accounts
• Ability to work on-site in South Miami Monday through Friday

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day accounting needs of multiple business clients
• Serve as a primary accounting contact for assigned client accounts
• Communicate professionally with clients in  both English and Spanish
• Manage full-cycle accounting from transaction review through month-end close
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries and adjusting entries
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Complete month-end and year-end closing activities
• Prepare and review financial statements
• Review balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Maintain accurate books and supporting documentation
• Prepare and close books for tax preparation
• Communicate with clients regarding financial information, missing documents, transactions, discrepancies, and accounting needs
• Manage multiple client deadlines and priorities simultaneously
• Take ownership of assigned client accounts with minimal supervision
• Coordinate with internal accounting and tax professionals as needed

Ideal Background

We are specifically looking for someone who has experience working in an environment where they were responsible for the books of  multiple outside clients , rather than accounting for only one employer.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

• CPA firms
• Public accounting firms
• Accounting firms
• Bookkeeping firms
• Outsourced accounting departments
• Client Accounting Services (CAS)
• Tax and accounting practices

Experience with  QuickBooks or similar accounting software is strongly preferred.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced accountant who is comfortable managing a portfolio of client accounts and communicating directly with business owners and clients in  both English and Spanish .

You should understand the complete accounting cycle and be able to step into an established portfolio, identify what needs to be completed, resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate books, complete month-end close, and keep multiple client deadlines on track.

We are looking for someone who can  take ownership of assigned accounts and contribute quickly with minimal supervision.

Compensation

$60,000–$85,000 per year , depending on experience.
