Work Environment

The position is located onsite at our bustling hospital setting, where teamwork and communication are valued. You will work closely with a diverse group of medical professionals, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, in a well-equipped urgent care unit that caters to patients seeking immediate medical attention. The work schedule typically runs Monday to Friday, covering a 40-hour week starting at 5:00 PM, ensuring you have weekends and holidays to recharge.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient examinations, including reviewing medical histories and performing physical assessments, to identify health issues accurately.
• Order and interpret necessary diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and X-rays, to aid in the development of effective treatment plans.
• Diagnose and manage various acute health conditions and illnesses, ensuring evidence-based care is delivered effectively.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, especially for chronic health conditions, to improve patients' overall health outcomes.
• Prescribe medications as appropriate, monitoring their effectiveness and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain meticulous and organized patient records in adherence to healthcare regulations and privacy laws, ensuring accuracy in all documentation.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
• Engage in continuous professional development through training, workshops, and staying abreast of the latest medical advancements.
• Contribute to a collaborative environment, working closely with team members to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population you will serve primarily consists of individuals seeking urgent care for acute ailments, injuries, and other health concerns. Our clinic is committed to addressing a wide range of conditions, from minor injuries to more complex health issues, thus requiring you to be adaptable and well-versed in a variety of clinical presentations. Additionally, you will play an integral role in patient education, helping individuals navigate their healthcare journeys with confidence.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• A valid New Jersey Physician Assistant license (PA-C) and a current DEA number.
• At least two years of experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in an urgent care, emergency room, or clinic setting.
• Proficient knowledge of primary care and acute care practices, including familiarity with health regulations and patient care best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an urgent care environment with a strong clinical background in assessing and managing acute health conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure while maintaining a high level of patient care.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and diagnostic software.

Compensation and Benefits
