Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring an active NY license in hand and EPIC EMR experience.

Details

• Tertiary care hospital setting with 528 staffed beds
• Med/Surg Tele unit caring for patients requiring cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 on the MedSurg unit
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 13-week contract length
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand with no exceptions
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and oxygen tanks
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience with rapid response/code team protocols

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response for Med/Surg Tele patients
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias as part of daily patient care
• Perform non-invasive airway management as needed
• Scrub attire consists of any combination of navy and white
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
