Play a meaningful role in supporting students’ growth by providing occupational therapy services in an engaging elementary school environment. This full-time contract position covers a maternity leave from August 18th through December 18th, with the potential to extend for the full school year. Located near Escondido, CA, you will work alongside a dedicated team of education professionals who value collaboration and student-centered care.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Previous experience with school-aged children, preferably within an elementary caseload
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy tailored to students with diverse needs
- Excellent collaboration skills for working with teachers, administrators, and families
- Creative, flexible, and compassionate approach to addressing student challenges
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans for elementary students
- Deliver occupational therapy services in accordance with students’ IEP goals
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff to integrate therapeutic activities into the classroom setting
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
- Communicate progress with parents/guardians and provide resources as needed
- Support a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students
