Financial Analyst

Our client, a media entertainment company, is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team! This will be a onsite role working out of their office in New York. The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in finance with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and systems like SAP or Oracle. Role Overview Contract Role: 6 months Pay: $43.12/hr on W2 Responsibilities Lead the preparation, consolidation, and forecasting of annual operating budgets, capital budgets, and long-range financial plans. Perform monthly variance analysis, track actual costs against forecasts, and provide actionable financial insights to business and technology leaders. Partner with stakeholders to develop, validate, and prioritize capital project portfolios, including the use of NPV modeling for Capital Expenditure Requests (CER). Collaborate closely with Technology Finance leads and department heads to drive financial transparency, accountability, and improved operational performance. Execute monthly accounting close processes, including the management of accruals and journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. Utilize data from multiple sources to identify trends and conduct ad-hoc analyses that support both tactical operations and long‑term strategic decision‑making. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in finance or a related field with a solid foundation in GAAP accounting principles. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential, with bonus consideration for experience in systems like SAP, Oracle, TM1, or Longview. Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable narratives, paired with a proactive, detail‑oriented approach to process improvement and end‑to‑end task management. Must be an adaptable team player capable of working independently in a fast‑paced environment, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and industry best practices.
